Journal Five

I was very dissappointed to read that for the people art was nothing. Especially when so many newspapers wrote that it was "boondoggling". If I were a newspaper reporter, I would think first before I write, because writing is an art and creativity also. Newspaper reporter is an artist as all other artists, only in a different field. I was very happy to read that art wasn't left behind, and at least 25 percent of WPA budget was spent on it. I liked Flanagan quote, "The thetre is more than a private enterprise; it is also a public interest which, properly fostered, might come to be social and educative force."
